The Jakarta Environmental Agency collected approximately 79.29 tons of trash after the 80th Independence Day celebration on Sunday (8/17).

Jakarta Environmental Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said that for cleanliness management, he deployed 1,800 personnel starting from the provincial, city, and Integrated Waste Processing Unit (UPST) as well as the Water Body Waste Management Unit (UPSBA).
"They were on standby from the morning before the ceremony until the folk party and carnival events finished in the evening," he expressed, Tuesday (8/19).

"After the carnival and public festivities ended, they carried out a thorough cleanup starting from the Merdeka Palace area, Monas, Jalan Thamrin, Jalan Sudirman, and the surrounding Semanggi area," he explained.
To support it, they deployed 12 inorganic trucks, 10 mini dump trucks, 12 compactor trucks, and 14 road sweepers.
"We also deployed 40 dust bins and 10 toilet trucks during the event," he added.
"The entire cleaning process was completed last night. In total, 360 cubic meters or equivalent to 79.29 tons of trash was transported," he closed.
